The UPnP™ Forum Membership Agreement states that, to be eligible to vote in the election of Steering Committee positions, Forum members must execute a written Commitment Form, pursuant to the following guidelines as stated in the UPnP™ Forum Membership Agreement:
(i) Commit in writing to use good faith efforts to generally promote and endorse the UPnP™ Forum and its standardization objectives.
This document reflects the commitment form
for Forum members as developed by an assigned task force of the Steering
Committee.
The following has been
ratified by the full Steering Committee.
In furtherance of Section 2 of the UPnP™ Forum Membership Agreement, the following is submitted.
All Forum Members, who intend to vote in the election to fill positions on the Steering Committee, commit to:
The Forum Member agrees to ensure that skilled individuals from its firm actively participate in at least one Working Committee to aid in the development of UPnP™ Device Control Protocols (DCPs). Past contributions either as an author of at least one DCP through the template design complete milestone, a sample implementer of at least one DCP, chair/vice chair of a Working Committee, Member of the Steering, Marketing, and Technical Committees, or launching of a UPnP™ certified device also meet the intent of this criterion. This participation is expected to include attending no fewer than seventy-five percent (75%) of the Working Committee meetings in twelve consecutive months.
Product Development
and Commercialization:
The Forum Member hereby commits, in its sole discretion, to the general development and commercialization of UPnP™ compliant devices, design aids or other items that advance the goals of the UPnP™ Forum.
Promotion and Public
Endorsement:
The Forum Member, in its sole discretion, agrees to generally promote and endorse the UPnP™ Forum and its standardization objectives.
This Commitment Form (version dated July 2001) supersedes any previously signed Commitment Form(s).
I understand that under the Agreement, failure to comply with these statements could lead to my or my company’s disqualification to vote to fill positions on the Steering Committee.
